Monday, May 23, 2011

Good evening!  For those of you that don't know me, my name is Natasha Burch.  I have two great kids, Caitlyn (15), and Ryan (9).  I am also very involved with my niece, Brooke (6), and help her however I can.  My husband passed away unexpectedly on April 6, 2011.  Needless to say, this has been the most difficult time of my life, as well as my childrens'.  Thank you for any feedback, posts, prayers, thoughts, etc.

I visit the cemetery twice a day, and the kids go once in the evenings with me (it is their choice).  This is the hardest thing I have ever been through, but hope that helping others will help heal me a little bit.  Gary was my heart, always will be.  My heart physically aches for him.  We miss him more than I can ever put into words, but we know he is with God and can't wait to be with him again in God's time.  Until then, we need to live our life here according to God's will.  We need to help as many people as possible, and I hope that everyone will do their part.  May God bless each of you and please don't ever take one moment for granted.

I have been looking for ways to save money over the past 2 years.  My husband and I had both been in the RV and Manufactured Housing industries for many years, and it hasn't been very stable to say the least.  At any rate, I considered myself quite the amateur, but would always love coming home and telling him how much money I saved.  I started doing "coupon classes" at our house for some friends of ours because I simply wanted to let them know they can save money too.  This blog is going to be something for me to focus on now that the kids' spring sports are coming to an end.  In addition, I am going to teach you how to save and use common sense while doing it.  I'm not one of those that buy ten year's supply of something, however, I do have enough to last me a few months in case I lose my job.  I need that stock, especially with my heart being gone.

Now, if I find a phenomenal deal on something, I get as much of it as I possibly can (especially the free stuff), and donate it to the local churches and/or shelters.  My kids also go through their toys every November.  I call the local shelter and get the ages of the kids and we wrap up the toys and take them to the local shelter.  They have done this for the past 4 years and they feel like it is a gift for them to be able to give.  I think if we all just do our part, this will be a much better place to live out our days until God calls us home.

Also, I have made my own laundry detergent, fabric softener, cleaners, and more, to save money.  I am hoping that this will be a place where we all can share ideas and save money, so that we can help others in need more.

Sincerely,

Natasha Burch
